Two teens get $25,000 from McDonalds after fake ad went unnoticed in epic prank
Jevh Maravilla and Christian Toledo put up a fake marketing poster of themselves eating McDonalds in their local town of Pearland, Texas. They had a couple friends sneak the poster in and the one wore a McDonald’s shirt to blend in as he hung the poster up.
The poster went untouched until about a month later when the two boys revealed the prank on social media which immediately went viral.
“We were eating McDonald’s one day and we looked around and saw there were posters around that didn’t have any Asians,” Maravilla said. “They had other races but no Asians so we felt like it was our duty to put ourselves up there.”
Jevh and Christian later went on the Ellen show. On the show, McDonald’s announced they were giving $25,000 for their prank. This garnered a bunch of free advertising revenue for McDonalds and it’s only right to compensate the two boys for their creativity.
Youtuber Davincij15 tells his viewers to buy $1 worth of Bitcoin in 2013 and only now is the video going viral
Davincij15(aka Davinci Jeremie) runs a fincancial channel on youtube out of Santiago, Chile. In 2013, he made a video advising his viewers to invest just even a small portion of their money into Bitcoin.
The bitcoin price in May of 2013 averaged $130. Today, 1 Bitcoin is worth around $40,000 and even just topped $60,000 a few months ago. A 46,153% return on your investment ain’t half bad if you’re asking me. If only the video had gained more traction at the time of the original post date, more people would be in the same financial situation as Davinci.
That video has surpassed 1.3 million views all of which are primarily viewed within the last 4 years.
Davinci’s instagram is leading me to believe that he listened to his own advice in 2013 and bought a large amount of Bitcoin. His Instagram is riddled with fancy cars, hotels, extravagant excursions, etc. Good for Davinci staying strong to his convictions and now reaping the rewards.
